The engagement
Alongside my IT Manager role, I work with IT Harbor as an independent IT Security & Network Consultant. I deliver network and infrastructure work for dental clinics, from scoping and implementation through validation and MSP handoff.
The work requires clear coordination with clinic owners and the managed service provider while supporting business-critical systems.
Technical delivery
My work includes secure wired and wireless networks, managed network equipment, remote-support tools and endpoint-security deployments. I also design segmentation and addressing structures that separate clinical, administrative, guest and infrastructure services.
Where needed, I troubleshoot server, file-share, DNS and connectivity issues affecting practice-management and imaging workflows.
Documentation & handoff
- Deployment reports describing the work completed.
- Network diagrams and IP inventories for ongoing support.
- Validation checklists and technical handoff documents.
- Recommendations and practical security considerations for clinic owners and MSP stakeholders.
The goal is a supportable environment with documentation that the next person can use, not just a completed installation.
Relevance to GRC
This work develops the client-facing side of my experience: clarifying requirements, explaining security decisions and documenting what was implemented. It also connects technical controls with the people responsible for operating them.
I discuss privacy and access-control considerations without representing these deployments as formal privacy assessments or certifications.
